The use of iron oxide pigments mainly includes three steps: wetting, grinding and paint mixing.

Wetting: First, mix the iron oxide pigment with the paint and filler in the mixing tank to make a coarse color paste. This step is to ensure that the pigment and the paint are fully mixed, laying the foundation for the subsequent steps.

Grinding: Different grinding equipment is used for grinding according to the different viscosities obtained by the amount of solvent added. For example, for thicker slurries, a three-roll mill can be used for rolling, while for thinner slurries, an efficient sand mill (vertical or horizontal) or ball mill can be used for grinding. The purpose of this step is to fully mix the pigment and the paint to achieve the required uniformity and fineness.

Paint mixing: In the paint mixing tank, resin, dry materials, solvents and other materials are added to perform paint mixing, color matching, viscosity adjustment and other operations. Finally, filter and package into finished products. This step is to complete the final mixing of the pigment to achieve the desired color and performance.

In addition, iron oxide pigments can also be used directly for cement coloring. The following points should be noted when using:

1. Choose the appropriate pigment: Choose the appropriate iron oxide pigment according to the desired final color, such as red, yellow, brown and black.
2. Prepare the cement mixture: Prepare the cement mixture, which usually includes cement, sand and water, and ensure that the texture of the mixture is uniform so that the pigment can be evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
3. Add pigment: Add the selected iron oxide pigment to the cement mixture gradually, starting with only a small amount of pigment and then slowly increasing to achieve the desired color. Stir the mixture to ensure that the pigment is evenly dispersed throughout the mixture.
4. Adjust the color and mix evenly: The color can be adjusted by adding more pigment as needed, and the concentration of the pigment will directly affect the depth of the final color. Make sure the pigment is completely mixed and evenly without obvious color spots or mottled.
5. Application and Drying: Apply the colored cement mixture in the desired manner to the items that need to be colored, such as cement floors, cement walls, cement tiles, etc. Let the colored cement dry, which usually takes a while, depending on the temperature and humidity. During this period, avoid contact with any object or water to avoid damaging the surface.
